Police are investigating the man who crashed into a home in Phoenix last week, killing a mother and wounding her three children.
Phoenix Police Capt. Steve Bittner said Monday that the woman and her three young children, ages 2, 4 and 5, were all taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Bittners family told police the suspect, who was not identified, was driving a black 2015 Lexus sedan and had been out of the state for several months.
He drove around for several blocks, and crashed through a wall in a garage at the end of a driveway, leaving the home completely destroyed, according to the police report.
The woman and children suffered minor injuries, but they were in stable condition, Bitters family said.
The driver was not immediately identified, and the crash was under investigation.
The police report said the suspect rented the car from a Phoenix-area business called “Villa” and then drove off in the car.
Police did not release the man’s name, nor did they provide a description of the vehicle or any of the family members.
