Phoenix, Arizona — The Phoenix Suns announced their 2018 schedule on Thursday, July 13.
The Suns’ 2018 slate is expected to feature six games against Western Conference opponents.
This is the second consecutive season the Suns have faced a Western Conference opponent, as they will host the Portland Trail Blazers in the opener of the 2017-18 season.
The Suns have also faced the Utah Jazz in the preseason, the Portland Thorns in the 2015-16 season, the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2016-17 season, and the San Antonio Spurs in the 2017 NBA Finals.
The first eight games of the Suns’ slate will be against teams with NBA Championship pedigree.
The Blazers have won three championships with the Portland franchise.
The first of these wins was a 129-107 victory on Feb. 1, 2020.
Phoenix defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 113-107 on Feb., 6, 2021.
The Thunder lost 104-93 to the Lakers on March 3, 2021 and 110-110 to the Trail Blazers on March 17, 2021, both of which came in the first half.
The last time the Suns lost a road game to a Western opponent was on March 27, 2017.
Phoenix has won 11 of its last 13 games against the West, including three of four against the Losers.
