Phoenix Sky are the newest MLS club, which will start play next season in the new Phoenix Stadium in Inglewood, California.
The new stadium has a capacity of 17,000, and it will be the first in MLS.
Phoenix Sky are one of a handful of MLS clubs to have attracted a crowd of more than 25,000 on their debut season, with the Seattle Sounders, Chicago Fire and New York Red Bulls all having more than 30,000.
The Phoenix Sky announced on their Facebook page that they will be able to attract more than 1,000 new fans to their first match in 2018.
“It’s great to be able in this new venue to get the Phoenix Sky excited,” Phoenix Sky midfielder Gabriel Obertan said.
“It’s an important milestone for us to start a new chapter in our club, our career and our journey.”
The Phoenix Soccer Club, which has an ownership group including the Phoenix Suns, is also the official partner of the Phoenix City Football Club.
